Father’s Day is right around the corner in North America and you have less than 30 days to search for a special gift for your sports-loving dad. For 2011, Dad’s special day falls on June 19. If your dad is an active man and a sports enthusiast, the best gift you can give him this Father’s Day should be something related to his favorite athlete, game, or team.

No matter the leather wallet, neckties, barbecue grill sets, or the usual cufflinks; if you would appreciate more sports-themed canvas prints or golf shoes. If you are unfamiliar with sports like your dad is, then a few suggestions might be helpful. Here are some tips that could help you find what your dad really wants to receive for Father’s Day:

1. Sports Magazine Subscription – Get your dad a monthly subscription to his favorite sports magazine, newsletter or catalog. By now, you should know what reading material your dad prefers to read. There are magazines that include soccer or baseball, and golf catalogs and newsletters.

4. Mini-refrigerator: Buy a mini-refrigerator or wine cooler for your dad so he doesn’t have to get up for a drink in the kitchen and risk missing out on the best parts of the game. Get him something that can hold at least a six-pack or more if he watches the games with his friends at home. It will be perfect for your TV room, mini-bar or wherever you prefer to watch the games.

5. Space heater: If it’s cold in your dad’s study or TV room, give him a space heater so he can comfortably watch his favorite TV shows or sports tournaments. Get him a quiet heater so his dad can hear TV clearly while the heater is on. Try to find one with a remote control for your convenience.

6. Canvases: Get a wall canvas for your dad that represents his favorite sports team or stadium. You can use large canvas photos as wall decor for your game room, home mini bar, or study. You can find many large format photographic prints including baseball, mountain biking, sailing, basketball, and even running. Have the artwork delivered to your doorstep for a big surprise.
