There are a lot of fun things you can do when it’s snowing outside and there’s a lot of snow on the ground. Many of us, as adults, view snow as annoying and not much fun. We forget that as children we loved to go out and play in the snow. You can do some of these things with your children when they are old enough.
The first and most obvious thing you can do when it’s snowing is go skiing and snowboarding. There are many places throughout the country that have slopes to go down. Some of these stations also have snow machines so even when it’s not snowing, they can make snow. Not to mention, it’s fun to sit around a campfire after a long day of skiing and relax.
You can build a snowman or a snow woman. You have to make sure that the snow you use is good for snow stacking or else you really won’t be able to make the necessary snowballs for a snowman. There are many ways to make one, so you will only be limited by your mind. When you are done with your snowman, you need to get a spray bottle and fill it with water. Once it’s full of water, you’ll want to go out and spray the entire bottle. This is to ice the snowman and make it last a little longer than would otherwise be possible.
Like building a snowman, you may be able to build a fort to play with. If you are more unruly, you could build an igloo. These will obviously take a bit longer to come together, but it will be worth it in the end. It will be a place where you and your friend will go. The benefit is also that it will be a bit warmer in the fort than outside of it, as it will be able to block out all the wind. Make sure to ice it like you did your snowman to make it last a bit longer.
Don’t forget to go sledding. Sledding can be quite fun. You will have to explore the slopes around your house in search of the most fun places to go sledding. There are usually a few places that everyone around you knows to go sledding, so if you need an idea, be sure to ask them. When sledding, you will have a few options in the types of sleds you can use. There’s the saucer sled, the slide, and the normal straight plastic guy. Each one has its own unique characteristics that you should find quite amusing.
