Freecell Solitaire is a fun and addictive single player card game. It was invented by Paul Alfille, who made the first computerized version in 1978. Freecell is highly skill dependent and almost every game can be won with perfect strategy. There are only a few known offers that have no solution. This is what makes this game much more interesting than other solitaires like Klondike, where luck is a very important factor.

If you carefully plan your Freecell strategy, you have a much better chance of winning. Here are some easy tips that will help you solve your games more often.

1. You have to plan several moves in advance. Before making your first move, examine the table carefully. The moves that seem obvious aren’t always the best.

2. Start with the Aces. Prioritize releasing all Aces first, especially if they’re buried behind several high cards.

3. Create an empty stack on the table as soon as possible. Empty cells can be even more useful than empty free cells. They can be used to store an entire sequence of cards instead of a single card. They also allow you to move an ordered sequence of cards that is twice as long from one stack to another, also known as a “super move”.

4. Do not place cards in the free cells unless you have no other alternative. Always try to keep as many free cells empty as possible. The key to solving a Freecell deal is the ability to maneuver and you will have almost no room to do so once they are all full.

5. Always try to fill empty stacks with a long descending sequence, starting with a King if possible.

6. Don’t move as many cards as you can to the starting cells too quickly. You may need them to move around the bottom cards of other suits.

Some Freecell games are very easy to solve, while others may take longer to complete. By playing the same shuffle in different ways, you will be able to solve most of the more difficult ones. The more you play, the more games you can solve. Keep practicing the above strategies and soon you will get better results and more fun playing Freecell solitaire!
