Spring is a wonderful time of the year. It not only heralds the return of the sun and heat, but also brings one of the most important holidays – Easter! Easter is loved by both adults and children. Adults can visit friends and family and eat great food, while children can go find the eggs left by the Easter Bunny and receive fun gifts. And while egg hunt is a really great traditional activity, it’s unfortunately not enough to keep the kids happy and busy all through Easter Sunday.

Fortunately, there are other activities and games you can organize to keep the kids entertained. So here are some fun Easter activities to keep the kids happy!

Easter Egg Piñata

Piñatas come in all shapes, sizes, and themes, and thankfully that includes themes that are appropriate for Easter! Easter is a big holiday, so your local party supply store is sure to have piñatas in the shape of an egg, bunny, duck, or chick. Or if you don’t want to buy a pre-made one, you can always make yours any way you want. Once you have your piñata, fill it with Easter candy. This can include caramel eggs, jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, or anything else with a holiday theme. Or, if you’re worried this is too much sugar, you could mix in some small Easter stuffed animals, like stuffed chicks, stuffed ducks, or stuffed bunnies.

Before the kids take turns trying to break the piñata, you need to set it up. Remember that you must have it at a safe height, because if the objects inside fall from too high a height could cause an injury. Also, plug it into something sturdy so the whole frame doesn’t fall off, because you don’t want the piñata to fall off and hit someone. Just remember these tips and you will have a fun and safe way to entertain everyone.

Pin the chick in the egg

While we’re all aware of the donkey tail game, it’s worth remembering that there are other Christmas variations. Pin the chick in the egg is one of these variations. To create, all you need to do is draw an egg on a piece of cardboard. To make it look better, you can paint the egg or cover it with tissue paper. Next, glue some tweed to the back of the egg so that you have a small ring to hang the cardboard. Or you can use hooks you already have for paintings and frames. Hang it somewhere that works for you. Some good places are the inside of a door, like the front door or the basement door. Then all you need is the girls. Get yourself some small stuffed chicks, tape their butt or beak, lay them in a box, and you’re good to go.

Obviously, the game is almost the same as putting the tail on the donkey. Tie a blindfold around the eyes of the first contestants, a small piece of cloth or a clean dish towel will often work, and twist them until they are disoriented. Then tell them that they have to find the egg and nail the chick on top. Set correctly and it looks like the chick is coming out of the top of the egg. Let the other children cheer them on and yell for guidance as they try to pin the girl. This game has the advantage of being easy to play and set up, and it can keep kids entertained for quite some time. As a reward, you could give the chick to the child who manages to nail it correctly to the top of the egg.

There you go! These two fun and easy-to-set up games will keep the kids at your Easter gathering happy and entertained. These activities will not only be fun for everyone to see, but will also create great party favors that these kids will remember for years to come. Happy Easter!
