Is hypnosis addictive? It’s deeply meaningful and pleasurable, so more or less. It is usually just as addictive as the amazing art. There are people who get lost in galleries and museums; however, most simply enjoy the experience.

I say “usually” for a reason. It can be much more convincing than that.

I describe myself as a trance addict. The hypnotic state is sublime and I can’t get enough of it. I am equal in all healthy pleasures: good food, good company, good sleep. I get “withdrawals” from those too.

Anything can be addictive to the right mind. And cravings come from your unconscious mind (after all, it’s not like you can choose to stop a craving), so I’m not saying it doesn’t happen.

In fact, some nefarious individuals design their hypnosis to be addictive. And once you start talking about that, you’re talking about a completely different kind of trance. Most hypnosis is not addictive…unless the hypnotist makes it so.

Hypnosis breaks addictions. In the hands of a loser looking for a cheap thrill, it can certainly make them.

Yeah, it turns out you have to be careful who you let hypnotize you with. I hear horror stories all the time. People find random audio on the internet, listen to it, and then regret it.

They can’t stop listening to them.

They begin to question their reality and identity. Many of these victims freak out, thinking that the audio made them gay/straight or turned them into sex slaves or something. It probably wasn’t, but the very thought is enough to make them miserable.

Suggestions tend to fade over time. However, if it’s addictive audio, that doesn’t help much. In the extreme, they can ruin lives. People spend all their time and money trying to get another hit.

It’s almost as if inviting lunatics into your unconscious isn’t such a great idea.

What is the best hypnosis cure for addictions?

Hypnosis is.

I know, I know, it sounds like a joke in bad taste. Does hypnosis cure hypnosis addiction? It’s like a hipster who thinks kale cures everything, including kale overdoses.

LOL.

But it’s not as weird as it sounds. Remember, hypnosis is a vast and complex discipline. No one agrees on what it is because it is as complex as thought itself. It covers thousands of remote ideas, concepts and techniques.

“Physical activity” can strain a muscle. It can also repair a strained muscle. It’s just a matter of doing the right physical activity for the job.

So also with the mind. Proper hypnosis can fix any problem including hypnosis addiction.

You can trust another hypnotist to clean up your mess. And honestly, you should. You wouldn’t trust your car to an amateur mechanic, so who do you trust with your mind? A professional, that’s who.

After that, you should learn self-hypnosis.

If people are messing with your mind (and they are, whether you touch hypnosis or not), then you need to know how to undo the damage. Nothing is as important as learning to defend yourself.
