The Lazy Boy Recliner Limited Warranty is one of the best in the furniture industry and includes a lifetime warranty on various mechanical parts of its products, including recliner mechanisms, sofa bed mechanisms, springs and spring systems, the swivel base and the wooden frame parts. Remember, the lifetime warranty applies to parts only, and labor costs are generally only covered for one year.

Only the person who originally purchased the Lazy Boy recliner from an authorized dealer is covered by the limited lifetime warranty. If you bought your recliner second-hand, the warranty cannot be transferred. You should be sure to buy your recliner from an authorized dealer if you want to take advantage of the warranty. Some dealers may also offer extended warranties from companies like Wear Dated, DuPont, or StainSafe.

The warranty is also limited to defects in workmanship and materials that occur under normal indoor residential use. The warranty does not cover furniture used for rental, commercial, institutional, or other non-residential uses. If the cabinet shows any signs of abnormal use, excessive dirt, improper cleaning or treatment, the warranty will be void.

Most warranty claims require Lazy Boy to first inspect the furniture to make sure the repairs are covered by the warranty. You will be responsible for paying the home inspection fees, the cost of shipping the furniture to and from the dealer, and the cost of shipping the furniture to and from the Lazy Boy factory. Most repairs do not require the furniture to be returned to the factory. You will also have to pay labor costs if repairs are necessary after the expiration of the warranty labor coverage period (usually one year from the date of purchase).

Not all parts have a lifetime warranty. The Genesis recliner mechanism found on the Lazy Boy Tulsa recliner is guaranteed for ten years, and the sofa bed mechanism on Signature Select models is guaranteed for five years. Fabric and leather are generally covered for one year only for defects in workmanship and materials, and other materials have warranties ranging from one to ten years.

The warranty is for the repair, replacement or replacement of the defective part and it is the sole discretion of Lazy Boy which option it will select. The guarantee does not provide for any refund of the purchase price. Items purchased “as is” or as clearance items from authorized dealers are not covered by Lazy Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty, so be sure to check first before purchasing.

To make a warranty claim, you must contact the authorized dealer where you purchased your Lazy Boy Recliner. However, if that reseller is no longer available, you can contact another authorized reseller as long as you have the original proof of purchase. If you believe that your dealer has not honored the warranty, you may write directly to La-Z-Boy Incorporated Consumer Services.
