All parents want the best for their children and very often this is confused with wanting their children to be the best! You will find parents putting pressure on their children to work hard towards a goal thinking it is for their good and what starts as motivation usually quickly evolves into additional pressure for the child to perform to their parents’ expectations and standards. With the right parenting skill, you can motivate your child to do better while being very careful not to cross the line.

Parents often stress their children out for one of few possible reasons.

family background

Children who come from family environments where several members are successful will tend to want their children to achieve the same level of success as they are. Because parents fly high, they may not see that constant pressure from their children to perform better is far from motivating.

economic stress

Some parents also want to minimize the financial stress of having children and the last thing they want is to have children who grow up experiencing problems getting a good education and of course later getting a job.

the kids owe it to you

Many parents have high expectations of their children because from a young age, they will provide the best for their children to create an ideal environment to grow. Parents tend to delude themselves that the secret to having successful children is to give them your all. The truth is that children also need their space to have fun. Excessive and constant motivation from parents because it is seen as pressure.
